Why LWC

The dumpster company Lakewood calls back

Most people renting a dumpster are already having a stressful week. The kitchen is in pieces, the roof is half off, or a family member has passed and there is a house full of forty years to sort out. The last thing anyone needs is a hauler who quotes one price, invoices another, and drops a container across the mailbox.

We started LWC Dumpster Rental in 2012 with one truck and one rule: tell people the truth about what it costs and show up when we said we would. 14 years later that has not changed. Cole Barrett still answers the phone most mornings, and our drivers still walk the drop before they back in.

We run out of 1205 S Pierce St, right on the Lakewood line, which means we are not routing a truck down from Thornton or out from Aurora when you need a container today. We know which Green Mountain streets a loaded truck can turn around on, which west-Denver lots want an alley drop instead of a driveway, which Ken Caryl and Solterra covenants cap how long a can may sit, and which foothills drives toward Morrison a loaded truck should not commit to after a storm.

Local knowledge

What makes hauling in Lakewood different

Rock and sod weigh a fortune

Xeriscape conversions are the most under-estimated job on the Front Range. Decorative rock and 3/4-inch gravel run roughly 2,400–2,800 lbs per cubic yard, and sod comes up with two to four inches of soil attached. A 900 square foot front yard is measured in tons, not yards — which is why we will put you in a 10 yard, twice, rather than a 30 once.

Every jurisdiction is different

Lakewood, Denver, Golden, Wheat Ridge, Arvada, Edgewater and unincorporated Jeffco each run their own right-of-way permit with their own form and lead time, and CDOT gets involved on a state highway. Alley placement is standard on older west-Denver lots. We handle all of it — see the permit guide.

Hail runs this market

The metro sits in one of the worst hail corridors in the country and the season runs roughly May to September. When a storm cell goes through, every roofer in Jeffco wants a container the same week. Roofing accounts get priority scheduling and next-morning delivery — see roofing dumpsters and the hail claim guide.

Test before you scrape

Colorado is stricter than most states. CDPHE Regulation No. 8 requires an inspection by a certified inspector before you disturb suspect material, and popcorn ceilings and old floor tile in pre-1980 homes are the usual positives. Many building departments will not issue a demo permit without the report. We cannot take asbestos in any container — read the testing guide first.

What customers say

Straight talk from Lakewood and the west Denver metro

Hail took our roof in June and every hauler in the metro was booked solid. Cole had a can in the driveway at seven the next morning, on boards, exactly where the crew wanted it. He also told me a 30 would go over weight on impact-resistant shingle before I ordered one.

Steph M.Green Mountain — Hail Roof Replacement

We pulled about 900 square feet of sod and river rock out of the front yard. I ordered a 20 thinking bigger was safer. They talked me into two 10s instead and saved me a fortune in overage. Nobody else even asked what the material was.

Ray V.Applewood — Xeriscape Conversion

1961 ranch, popcorn ceilings, and I had no clue Colorado required testing before you scrape them. LWC flagged it on the phone and told me to get an inspection before they would deliver. It came back positive. They probably saved me from a very expensive mistake.

Priya N.Lakewood — Basement & Ceiling Remodel

We run remodels across Jeffco and west Denver and LWC is the only outfit I do not have to chase. Swaps land next day, the invoice matches the quote, and they know which Denver jobs need the diversion paperwork.

Dumpster Rental FAQs

How fast can you deliver a dumpster in Lakewood?

Most of the time, same day if you call before about 11am, and next morning otherwise. We run our own trucks out of 1205 S Pierce St in Lakewood, so we are not waiting on a dispatcher two counties away. During storm cleanup and peak spring remodeling weeks it can stretch to 48 hours, and we will tell you honestly when you call.

What does a flat rate actually include?

Delivery, pickup, an agreed rental period and a set tonnage allowance with disposal included. No fuel surcharge, no environmental fee, no admin fee. The only way the number changes is if you go over the weight allowance or keep the container longer than agreed, and we tell you both limits before we deliver.

Do I need to be home for delivery or pickup?

No. Plenty of our customers text us a photo of where they want it and go to work. All we need is clear access, a spot free of cars and low branches, and permission to be on the property. If access is tight or gated, tell us when you book and we will schedule accordingly.

Will the dumpster damage my driveway?

We put protection boards under the wheels and rails on every residential delivery, which spreads the load instead of concentrating it on four small contact patches. The Front Range complication is expansive bentonite clay, which heaves and cracks metro driveways long before a truck ever arrives — so we document the existing condition on arrival. In winter we would rather come back a day later than set a loaded can on sheet ice. Our placement guide explains it fully.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Lakewood?

On your own driveway or private property, generally no. In the public street or right-of-way you usually do, and that goes through the City of Lakewood — or CDOT on a state highway. Denver, Golden, Wheat Ridge, Arvada and unincorporated Jeffco each run separate processes, and HOAs in Ken Caryl, Solterra and Highlands Ranch add their own rules on top. See our permit guide or just call and ask.

What can I not put in the dumpster?

Wet paint, solvents, motor oil, fuel, pesticides, asbestos, propane and other pressurised cylinders, batteries, medical waste, tires, and freon-containing appliances. Colorado also bans electronics such as televisions and computers from landfill disposal. Everything else on a normal cleanout or renovation is fine — when in doubt, ask us before it goes in.

Still not sure?

Two minutes on the phone beats twenty minutes reading. Tell us the job and we will size it, price it and book it.
